outstanding around the implementation of Manifest v3 (MV3). <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4><strong>Google Chrome</strong></h4> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Since the last article was published Google have issued a new and <p>Reference: <a href="https://developer. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>With Google Chrome version 110 a new policy called &ldquo;Control Manifest v2 extension availability&rdquo; was introduced. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This policy which can be enabled at either Computer or User level allows for Administrators to control how the browser behaves with regards Manifest v2 based extensions. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-left: 25px;"><i>Control if Manifest v2 extensions can be used by browser. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-left: 25px;"><i>Manifest v2 extensions support will be deprecated and all extensions need to be migrated to v3 in the future. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-left: 25px;"><i>If the policy is set to Default (0) or not set, v2 extensions loading are decided by browser, following the timeline above. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-left: 25px;"><i>If the policy is set to Disable (1), v2 extensions installation are blocked, existing ones are disabled. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p added support for MV3 extensions however there is no support yet for some of the MV3 features such as DeclarativeNetRequest (DNR). <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The latest ESR release Firefox 102. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Again, at the time of writing there are no official timelines around the deprecation of MV2 extensions in Firefox. <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4><strong>WebData Control</strong></h4> <p>Avanite continue to look at the updates and improvements in this release. <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4><strong>Simplified Deployment and Management</strong></h4> <p>In a drive to make configuration, deployment and management <p>Using WebData Control simplifies management and deployment by providing the ability to quickly configure and seamlessly deploy changes to endpoints. <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>WebData Control also ensures that the latest SiteList is used at all times with the WebData Management feature allowing for complete removal of outdated Enterprise Mode data from endpoints overcoming the 65 second delay in paraid="311003526">&nbsp;</p> <p paraeid="{4446753c-0f4f-4176-bd21-d260b7828f27}{175}" paraid="311003526">The Chromium Project is altering the WebExtension API by introducing a change which is commonly labelled &ldquo;Manifest v3&rdquo; (MV3) which will impact extensions for any browser based on Chromium and other browsers like Mozilla Firefox which leverage the WebExtension API framework. <p paraeid="{4446753c-0f4f-4176-bd21-d260b7828f27}{215}" paraid="159867831">&nbsp;</p> <p paraeid="{4446753c-0f4f-4176-bd21-d260b7828f27}{215}" paraid="159867831">With regards Avanite, WebData Control&rsquo;s Browser Redirector feature uses browser extensions to intercept URLs typed into the browser and the changes to the WebExtension API require the latest version of WebData Control to (MV2) implementation since 2012/13. <p paraeid="{c3b69999-3a51-4584-aea9-8c9becfadf45}{16}" paraid="2035649205">&nbsp;</p> <p paraeid="{c3b69999-3a51-4584-aea9-8c9becfadf45}{16}" paraid="2035649205">MV3 has some benefits over MV2 but the changes have proven controversial as some capabilities in MV2 are no longer available in MV3 and have proved to be pretty restrictive for
